Announcing FDNY-USNORTHCOM Operational Demonstration Live Stream
The live streamed demonstration will showcase joint entry and rescue operations in a contaminated environment, integrated decontamination operations for a Mass Casualty Incident involving CBRN material, as well as the 468th vehicle extrication capabilities. A key part of this collaboration is the ability of a DoD asset to integrate seamlessly and work in support of a local Incident Commander anywhere in the Homeland.
What you will see is the FDNY’s Tiered Response, consisting of one of the 25 FDNY Technical Decon Task Forces, the Haz Mat Battalion, Haz Mat Technicians, and other specialized units, working side by side with similarly trained assets from the U.S. Army working under US Northern Command. The US Army Reserve Command 468th Engineer Detachment from Danvers Massachusetts, is a CBRN Urban Search & Rescue (US&R) resource, technician level trained and equipped like a FEMA US&R Team. This provides a force multiplier in the Defense Support of Civil Authorities mission.
