Scott J. Glick is vice president and general counsel for Summit Exercises and Training, a veteran-owned small business that specializes in providing proven full-spectrum preparedness solutions to systematically address all threats and hazards for its government and private sector clients. Mr. Glick has nearly four decades of experience in law enforcement, counterterrorism, and critical incident response and preparedness exercises. He previously served as the Director of Preparedness and Response at the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), where he led DOJ’s national preparedness policy and planning efforts, including in regard to terrorist use of weapons of mass destruction.
During his career at DOJ, he also served as Deputy Chief in the Counterterrorism Section and as a member of the Attorney Critical Incident Response Group, where he advised DOJ’s top officials on the legal and operational issues that arose in response to acts of terrorism and natural disasters. As a federal prosecutor, Mr. Glick prosecuted international terrorism cases, and before joining DOJ, he prosecuted organized crime and violent crime cases as a state prosecutor in New York.
Since his retirement from DOJ in 2017, Mr. Glick has provided advice and guidance to numerous federal departments and agencies on how to cohesively integrate law enforcement, counterterrorism, and consequence management operations in response to terrorist threats. Mr. Glick also has extensive teaching experience at the law school and graduate school levels, and has published articles on weapons of mass destruction, cybersecurity and preparatory consequence management.
