Captain Melissa Ken is serves as an Assistant Professor of Law, United States Air Force Academy, Colorado Springs, Colorado where she is the Course Director for National Security Law. In addition to National Security Law, she also teaches Law for Air Force Officers, which is a required course for all 4,400 cadets.
   
Capt Ken received a direct commission as an Air Force Judge Advocate and entered active duty in May 2016.  She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from Messiah College in 2011 with honors. She proceeded to attend Rutgers School of Law and earned her Juris Doctorate in May 2014. After graduating from Rutgers, she spent a year as a law clerk for a criminal judge serving with the New Jersey Superior Court, Vicinage 15. She is admitted to practice law before the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, the Supreme Court of New Jersey, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces. Captain Ken received her LL.M. in National Security and U.S. Foreign Relations Law, with highest honors, from The George Washington University Law School.
