Jerred A. Johnson hails from the Eastern Shore of Maryland, where he has over 11 years of public safety experience. Johnson has served in the fire service for over 7 years as a fire cadet, Firefighter, Emergency Medical Responder, and certified Rescue Technician. Johnson also worked in campus law enforcement at the University of Maryland College Park Police Department, where he focused on campus security, homeland security operations with the explosive detection K-9s, and VIP security at larger sporting events.
Jerred has received an Associate‘s degree, Bachelor’s Degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice from the University of Maryland College Park, and a Master’s Degree in in Emergency Management and a Master ‘s Certificate in Homeland Security Management from the University of Maryland Global Campus. Johnson currently serves as the Emergency Management Planner and Public Information Officer for Somerset County Department of Emergency Services.
