Emergency Services Administrator
Mr. Annas is currently the Emergency Services Administrator for the Riverside Fire Department – Office of Emergency Management (OEM) and serves as UASI Administrator and Regional Critical Infrastructure Program Manager for the Riverside Urban Area Security Initiative (RUASI). OEM is responsible for disaster mitigation, preparedness, response, and recovery in inland Southern California’s largest city. As Emergency Services Administrator Mr. Annas coordinates and directs the planning, organization, and implementation of local emergency management activities to include serving as the EOC Manager during activations of the Emergency Operations Center. Mr. Annas was appointed to the Federal Communications Commission – Communications Security, Reliability and Interoperability Council V (CSRIC) for the 2015-2017 term and CSRIC VII for the 2019-2021 term. He currently sits on a CSRIC work group charged with reimagining emergency alerting. Mr. Annas was elected to serve on the National Homeland Security Association (NHSA) Board of Directors in 2019.
He has previously held positions with Riverside County Fire Department as a Public Information Specialist and Riverside City Fire Department – Office of Emergency Management as Emergency Services Coordinator. Mr. Annas began his emergency management career with the Harris County, Texas Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management.
Mr. Annas is a graduate of The University of Houston with a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science. Mr. Annas completed FEMA’s first National Emergency Management, Basic Academy in 2011,is a 2016 graduate of their Advanced Academy and graduated from the Executive Academy in August 2018.
